When the end of your hair dries out and becomes brittle, you tend to suffer from split ends. Most women will have this problem, though it can be avoided with a better hair care routine and regular cuts. In fact, if you take good care of your hair, you can gradually get rid of split ends forever.

That’s good to know, but what if you need a solution right now?! You’re getting ready to go out, but you’ve noticed that you have some nasty split ends that make your hair look really dry and damaged. Is there anything you can do to quickly hide them?

Yes, there is! In fact, there are three things you can try:

Argan Oil

Argan oil is native to Morocco and it can be pretty expensive. However, it is worth buying if you regularly suffer from split ends. This oil is extremely nourishing for your hair, providing extra moisturisation and protecting it from sun damage. You can also use argan oil on your skin, so you get multiple benefits from a nice bottle of the stuff.

All you have to do is rub the oil through the ends of your hair, and your locks will instantly look much healthier. The good thing with argan oil is that you can actually see more permanent results if you keep using it regularly.

Vaseline

Vaseline is the brand name for a highly popular petroleum jelly product. So, yes, you could use unbranded petroleum jelly, but Vaseline is a name everyone recognises!

Effectively, this is a very quick fix for moments when you badly need your hair to look healthier. Rub it through your split ends - as you would with the argan oil - and witness the results in the mirror. It basically acts like glue, sticking the ends together and making them look sealed once more.

WARNING: Only use Vaseline sparingly on your hair! This should literally be a last-minute fix when you don’t have any other options. If you do it too often, you can actually cause split ends to worsen.

Hair Extensions

Another very simple fix for split ends is to hide them with hair extensions. Lots of women enjoy this method because it’s fast, easy, and you don’t have anything to worry about. All you need to do is buy clip-in hair extensions, put them in your hair, and the job is done.

Right away, the extensions work to cover up your split ends, giving the illusion of a set of healthy locks. Of course, you have the added benefit of making your hair look thicker and more voluminous as well.

Please remember, these tips are quick fixes - they are not solutions! Only use these tips when you are in a rush and badly need to hide your split ends. They are not going to help you solve the problem entirely, so don’t expect them to.

Instead, you can follow these tips to permanently prevent split ends. As a result, you will have much healthier hair!
