By now you know I am a fan of alternative make up. In fact you may remember when I reviews Make Up revolutions alternative lip colours over on You Tube. Recently MAC collaborated with Halsey the American musician to bring us a new lipstick that I just had to have. I fell in love with the colour as soon as I saw it a silver/ grey unlike any I had ever seen. As this lipstick was limited edition I seized the opportunity to treat myself as I very rarely buy high end make up.
When buying this beautiful lipstick you also get an option to chose a free sample. The choice was between a mascara and a primer and as I am on the hunt for the perfect primer I went with that. The sample size is actually really good I just expected to get a little sachet but was treated to a cute little 6ml. I love a good sample and am looking forward to trying the primer out.
I had already had a peep at the colour pay off as my lovely friend Yasmin over at Dandelions and Buttercup bought it first and was lovely enough to send me swatches! The grey colour just looked like no other I had seen and I knew I had to have it.
The rich cocoa butter aroma of the lipstick is so beautiful. The application is smooth with a matte finish. The colour itself is a deep grey with a blue undertone that really makes it a wearable versatile colour. You can also build the colour up to get a much darker tone if you want to get something a bit different from the lipstick too. I feel like this is a dark lip that anyone can wear alternative or not this can suit a lot of different styles.
I am loving this collaboration and glad I got my hands on one before they sold out. Watch out for more fun colours like this.

I love this colour as a base but I think with such 'pop' colours I have to add a bit of shimmer, maybe a really dark plum in the central bow¬! - Brill review :)

ReplyDeleteThis looks really good on you! I'm glad its a matte. Have you played with it using different color lip liners? i.e. A nice midnight blue transitioning in to it I think would look so nice, or even a red on you.
