When a lovely friend invited us out for bottomless brunch with unlimited Pizza and chicken wings we were like YES! I always associate bottomless brunch with nibbles and prosecco, trust me there was still plenty of prosecco but they gave it the sports bar twist with pizza and beers too!
The Bar
Rabona is a sports bar in Matlock located just over the bridge and its just near the corner so you can't miss it. Like any sports bars there are lots of sports playing across various tv screens and pool tables, basketball games and punch bags games to keep people occupied. The pool tables are up the stairs so out the way if you want a quiet game with friends. Our group had a lot of fun with the basketball game and the punch bag. This is the place to be if you want to catch up on sports in Matlock but as a non sporty person I didn't feel unwelcome or overwhelmed there was great music playing and the sports was almost a background.
How It Works
You need to book ahead but you can do this up until the day of just so they can arrange a table for you ready. Some times are busier than others but the bar is broke up into different sections so it isn't a big issue. We went on Friday night and it didn't end up packed out but as it is a sports bar check that no big games are on when you're going. The staff are very accommodating so I am sure they will be happy to help with this. You get 90 mins for just £30 per person and the bottomless brunch is available every day including evenings- we went at 8 and stayed late. They were really good at letting us know when drinks would be up so get some drinks in to last the table.
What Can You Have Food
There are a range of fresh pizzas including meat, veggie and vegan options these are cooked to order and are massive. I had a pepperoni and there was a lot of pepperoni and Neil went for a hot honey and chicken pizza this was really tasty. The best bit is you can take them home of you can't finish them which we totally did.
There is also a range of chicken wings like blue cheese, bbq, buffalo and salt and pepper. I was also really impressed that there were cauliflower wings available too in the same variety of flavours. We had veggies in our party so this was a fantastic edition. I had never tried cauliflower wings before and they were really tasty and next time I would definitely order more. We had more than enough food and we were a big party of 10 people nobody went hungry at all and we all took home pizza aplenty. We are a big fan of supporting food locally and Rabona take part in local food festivals too.
What Can You Have Drinks
We had a constant stream of Prosecco coming to the table I don't think my glass was every empty. There was a great variety of cocktails available which you could have without the alcohol also as we had some drivers in the group too. These were classic cocktails such as 'Sex on the beach' , 'Pornstar Martini' , Aperol spritz. There was also a selection of beers including a local Thornbridge variety i think these vary but you can also grab cider or hooch too. Again we had so many different drinks and the bar staff were constantly making sure we always had more including shots at the end.
Staff
The staff were super attentive and friendly at all times. They never left us waiting for drinks and even when we wanted an extra pizza they made it happen. All three members of staff were really happy and made us all feel comfortable. They grabbed an extra table for us without having to be asked and just made the experience so lovely. They helped us take pictures throughout the night which you all know is hard as a big group. Thank you so much for all the hard work from the Rabona team. We were a big rowdy group and they provided a safe, fun and friendly atmosphere for us. They definitely brought the party to us and sent us all home happy and smiling.
In all we had a great time and I will be going back again!
