Sadly the summer is drawing to a close, the nights are growing darker earlier and the autumn months will soon be upon us. I do love the summer and all that goes with it, but I enjoy the autumn and winter months.
The two seasons definitely go hand in hand in terms of fashion and trends too. Below I’m going to look into four main autumn/winter eyewear trends for 2016 that have been noted by the pros.
And guess where they’re all from? Tesco Opticians, the home of great prescription glasses, high-street or designer, and cheap contact lenses!
Colour – Red
According to latest style advice, red is a colour that is going to be a prominent feature this autumn/winter season. I can see why! I always think of red and crimson as symbolic of warm autumn hues and festive shades of winter.
The pair below, DVF 5055 from Tesco Opticians is designed by Diane Von Furstenberg and are the perfect shade for the transition into the colder, crisper months.
Colour – Brown
Brown is the second colour set to take autumn/winter 2016 by storm. Warm autumnal hues of rich, leafy reds and browns complement the changing seasons perfectly. This pair by Brink Couture is a subtle and warm tortoiseshell on a slightly thinner frame. The delicate detailing on the arm adds a sense of vintage couture that I love!
Casual – Geeky
Geek-chic is also predicted to be a strong trend over the coming months. The lighter rims and semi-rimless frames add an effortless and unobtrusive feel, whilst the larger lenses create the look. I have chosen two examples below from Tesco Opticians, the first gold pair is by Givenchy, and the second semi-rimless pair are by Nord-Lite. I adore both, and think they offer something different, whilst maintaining the on-trend, geeky look.
Statement – Thick rim
The final trend makes a bold statement and can be the perfect accompaniment to a chunky winter coat or girlie autumn dress and boots. This pair of thick black rims named Retro by ’3535 by ‘54 are really versatile and totally on trend. They are the perfect choice for a daintier face because of the contrast they create, think Zoe Deschanel!
Embrace the transition from summer to autumn and on to winter and enjoy these styles that will keep you looking fabulous in any season.
