Go Exploring On Your Next Date

Hey Cats.

Love is in the air once again I love writing these posts about fun places to take or even met your partner. I feel like I get to explore the UK and find some amazing places right on our very doorstep without even having to leave the country. So even if you're not looking for love keep reading as you may find a hot spot to visit.

Kent

Kent isn't just a place for the young singletons the young at heart can also find love on over 50s dating Kent. Kent is a very popular destination for people all over the UK so if you're lucky enough to live there then there are plenty of places to choose from to take a date or maybe even meet one. There are 2 castles to choose from with beautiful grounds to explore. I love the look of Dover castle with it's stories of history to tell you can even catch weekends where there are live events on in which you can meet characters and feel like you have been truly jumped in a time machine.

Jersey

Jersey is a stunning place and for all those who met on a Jersey dating site I have one for a few dates in. I say a few dates in as you will be asking your date to meet you after dark so you may have to gain their trust first or even if you have been dating all day and want to carry on the romance. After dark you can go exploring something magical with a moonlight walk along the sea line to and be in awe of the bioluminescence of the marine life. This is so magical I would be well and truly wooed if this was a date I had been taken on.

Surrey

Find love on a Surrey Dating Site  and you may feel inspired to take them for a drink but instead of taking the conventional route of a bar why not be a bit different and take them for a sophisticated day trip to Denbies wine estate. Not only will you get to taste wines but learn all about them from professionals who have been making wine since 1984. You can explore the vineyards and then have a taster as well as get schooled on the best cheese to go with your wines. Cheese and wine sounds just heavenly to me,

Bournemouth dating

I already know exactly what I would want to do for some Bournemouth dating. If you haven't seen Russell Coates museum and art gallery yet then then you must. If not just to see how beautiful the Victorian building is. Located on the cliffs with stunning views and you can take in some culture at the same time. Learn about history while you make your own lasting memories that hopefully will become your lifelong partner.

Oxford

When you think of Oxford dating isn't the first thing that comes to mind. I instantly think of university and education but what can be more attractive than knowledge? Walk around this historic city and work up a romantic heat so you have an excuse to visit George and Davis ice cream cafe because ice cream is too lush to pass up. There is plenty to choose from and I love the aesthetic of the place and int he UK we don't have nearly enough places to go out for ice cream!

Have you been to any of these places?

Missguided Barbie Plus Size Range

Hey Cats,

I may be 34 years old but I am always down for some 90s dream fashion and some hardcore nostalgia so when I heard that there was going to be a plus Barbie range from Missguided I was stoked. I am not usually one who waits for something to hit the fashion world as I have been digging my charity shop finds more than anything lately but this one definitely got my attention. When I think Barbie it screams pink kitsch fashion. I just want to dance around in pink clad glamour to Barbie girl by Aqua and like many of my fellow fatties I was waiting for this Missguided collaboration to hit the website this morning.

Yet my childhood dream to wear the clothes Barbie would rock was shattered when as always the plus Barbie range wasn't an extension of the amazing under a size 16 range. The size 4 to 16 range had over 50 items to choose from with even some of those stopping at a 14! The items in this collection were more the kind of thing I lusted after with mesh bodysuits, cool crop tops, fun colours and a pretty awesome denim jacket complete with Barbie emblazed across the back. I got super excited thinking hey even if it isn't all of them the plus range will still be as fun and stylish with fun colours and patterns and be an extension of the range right?....ERRRRM NO! Had they been available in my size these are the items I would have picked for sure!

It is amazing that brands are starting to become more inclusive on sizing and yes it is awesome that some of the items are available up to a 24 (we keep fighting for higher) but why oh why does it have to be in boring drab colours with baggy fits instead of all the rad body hugging, tie dyed and mesh amazingness? Us plus size babes need colour and fit our lives too and sure some people may not buy the range but it is all about having the choice available to at least browse. Having a range of amazing clothes to choose from helps develop a better body image and a chance to create the most important thing in fashion...an identity. Plus size fashion has come a long way with less plus size people having to all wear the same things all the time. So lets take a look at some of the items we were offered.

These same items are available in non plus as well but it just seems like the edgy femme style has been stripped here and looks like more casual gym wear. I do dig the Bye Ken T shirt and can see it being cute styled the right way but I want to see it as part of a more interesting and inspiring range. I am hoping that Missguided are teasing us and will drop more items onto the site as a surprise but when you take to social media you can already feel the heart ache and disappointment already caused. Bring out the straight range in plus and people will be throwing money at it!

What do you think of the Barbie range?

5 Tips To Volumise Thinning Hair

Hey Cats,

When it comes to hair loss and thinning hair there are often underlying health issues that may be related for me it is poly cystic ovary syndrome. PCOS is hormonal related which means hair can become thinner in some places and appear in some places that often they normally wouldn't. When my PCOS flairs up I can find that my hair will thin out which can be really upsetting but over the years I have become more comfortable with ways to combat this. I want to share a few ways you Can improve thinning hair and the other options that are available.

The Right Products

I have always had fine hair so have experimented with lots of products and feel that the best results come from using a good volumising Shampoo. I really love the results I get with either the Pantene Volume or the Loreal fibrology ranges . I tend to rotate the two as it is better for your hair to make sure you're not always using the same hair care products. Also when conditioning your hair it is best to use as little a possible on the roots and focus more on the ends as too much conditioner can often weigh thin hair down and leave it looking lank and greasy even after a wash. I try to use as little heat on my hair as possible never using the hottest settings on the blow dryer. Don't be afraid to let your hair dry naturally patting with a towel and using a wide tooth comb to detangle with a light detangling product that is specifically for thinner hair.

A Good Hairdresser

A good hairdresser is one that knows how to work with your hair type, even better if they have the same kind of hair as you as they can give you some amazing first hand tips on how to keep your hair looking the best it can for the results you want. Layers are a fine haired grrrls best friend as they add more texture and definition to your hair making it appear thicker than it actually is. Keeping your hair at a manageable length will also help as the longer your hair is the heavier it will become and can then have a tendency to fall more than if you keep it at a mid length which gives you more freedom to play around with hairstyles. A good curl always adds a bit of thickness, I like to experiment with heat less curling methods as it puts less stress on your hair. There are lots of products to help achieve a fuller look for example hair donuts can make a bun of dreams.

Relax

Stress can also be linked to hair loss and the more you panic about your locks the more you will lose. Some believe that a good head massage can help de-stress and may actually have some success in helping your hair grow a little thicker. The theory is that a massage can help increase blood circulation to your scalp which will then in turn help the strength of the hair roots. Find a good local massage therapist or even get your partner to use an oil to massage your scalp to help nourish your hair. Not only will this help your hair become healthier but you will also feel totally relaxed and hopefully lift some tension.

Get Wiggy With It

If you have tried all of above and are still really struggling a confidence lifter can come in the form of a good wig. Wigs have become super affordable and a re a great way of trying out a style especially fun colours that you may not want to commit to all the time. However wearing wigs constantly can also restrict your hair growth so make sure you allow days off or just reserve them for special occasions.

Treatments

There are lots of treatments available, some are firm believers in steroid injections which can be painful but in extreme hair loss cases this may feel like an option you want to explore. Steroids can also be used in a tablet form. Hair transplants may also be an option, a new procedure FUE transplant is becoming more popular. FUE stands for follicular unit extraction in which a donor allows hair follicles to be removed and implanted onto a recipient. This is a very interesting procedure carried out by a doctor using powerful microscopes mapping your hair growth and placing the follicles to match and look more natural. As this becomes more popular it isn't just the celebrities that can now afford such a luxury treatment,  hair transplant costs  are becoming more affordable and accessible.

Fun Dates Around The UK

Hey Cats

Back by popular demand lets hunt out some more fun places to go on dates. I really enjoy writing these posts and finding new places for us all to go explore in the name of love. If you are from any of these places let us know in the comments where else is a hot spot to visit.

Guernsey

Guernsey is a very popular holiday destination as it is a little island in the English channel very close to the french coast. A popular place for people to retire and maybe dabble in a little over 50s dating Guernsey ! A place of natural beauty and wonder where even the famous fall in love Victor Hugo the writer of Les Miserables loves Guernseys charm. There is lots to see and do on this lovely island but why would you pay to go to a bar when there are so many beautiful places you can visit for free. Think outside the box and let the beauty of nature do the work for you by taking you date on a walk and picnic around the coastlines and cliff tops. If the sun is shining a picnic would impress a date way more than some pub grub.

Source

Essex

When you think of an Essex dating site  you may think of super preened and tanned people that have brought a new fame to Essex but there is so much more to Essex that TOWIE. Another beautiful coastal place to visit, it would be a crime to miss the opportunity to walk hand in hand along Halfpenny pier as the sun goes down. After all dates are about capturing those perfect moments and even soak up a bit of history as Halfpenny pier is an original Victorian wooden pier and one of very few still standing. If your date is a history buff then they will love the chance to learn more about halfpenny.

Lancashire

Lets travel to the north West for a spot of  Lancashire dating, let me tell you what this beautiful county has to offer. As with any place that has a beach near by I am always going to favour an activity by the sea but then maybe that is just because I am surrounded by countryside. This activity is the best of both worlds inspired by the country why not take a romantic horse ride along Lancashire beach great for beginners or experienced riders. Horses are beautiful creatures to be around and even better if you are great around animals show off that compassionate caring side to your future love.

Western Isles

The Western Isles is a stunning place off the coast of  Scotland. So what would you do there for some Western Isles dating? With a beach as beautiful as any you may find in France or further it would be a crime not to take a picnic down and even show off your sand castle building skills. If a picnic isn't for you grab some entertainment as most of the local pubs offer live bands and food with a bit of dutch courage. With that much live music on offer there is something for everyone and if you are feeling super brave maybe a spot of Karaoke.

Fife

Last but not least this one is for all those on Fife dating site! Another Scottish beauty this time offering countryside and beautiful scenery. With a beautiful coastal path this one is definitely for all those that love a good walk. Put on those boots and explore the way with your date, all those endorphins from the brisk exercise will get your cheeks flushed with more than just love. There are lots of beautiful spots to check out, stop to eat or even take in a bit of history.

Have you ever visited any of these places?

Ideas For A Friday Night Out

Hey Cats,

If you’re the kind of person who’s found yourself going out on Friday nights multiple times since you hit the grand old number 18 milestone, what you get up to can become a bit stale. We all have different experiences when it comes to the dance floor, but busting out some of our own moves tires us all completely! Sometimes it gets a little too expensive as well, with travel and drink costs adding up quickly, especially if you live farther out then your friends. Read on for some fun and interesting activities to get up to on a night out that’s a cry away from the usual nightclub.

pexels-photo-110472.jpeg

If you absolutely want to go out:

Going out is it’s own brand of fun alone. However, having a few different ideas about what you can get up to when you hit the town is a surefire way to keep it from becoming a ‘same old’ situation. Save up some money for a real experience you want to have and try a few of the ideas below.

1. Find a different kind of bar to party in

Plenty of alternative hangouts are available if you know where to look. Smaller areas have their own quaint little places, often with a mix and match design and just the right blend of a drink to cake ratio for a lot of us. If you’re lucky enough to live in mainstream metropolis areas like London, hitting up a place such as Bunga Bunga, a bar in covent garden is a great way to give yourself a different idea of booming music and stylistic decor. These kind of bars will offer a less traditional setup, with a different feel enriched with culture, so much so that you’ll often feel like you’re stepping into another country. In your mind, you’re guaranteed to remember some element of the time you spent there!

2. Hit up a pub quiz

This is an age old classic but has that timeless element to it. Pub quizzes never get boring due to the amount of questions quiz masters can come up with, and special rounds like a picture or music quiz is a staple of the experience. Make a group and catch a table, and order in as many drinks as you like to really spice up your answer sheet! Pubs are often a little cheaper when it comes to ordering a pint as well. Usually these quizzes are held with charity in mind so it might be a couple of quid on the door to participate, but it’s all for a good cause.

3. Get your skates on!

This can be quite a romantic option if you’re with the right company, with plenty of opportunity to hold onto each other and sweep your partner off their feet. Otherwise, it’s a great way to spend time with your friends that’s full of laughter if you’re not very good at keeping your balance! Just remember to balance on your toes like a penguin if you’re entirely new to the experience.

If not, try staying in:

We start to understand as we get a little bit older that we don’t always have to go out. It’s lovely from time to time, but sometimes the energy and mood is a bit low, so trying to force your party side out is harder. Below are a few tips on how to make a fun and creative night out of a couple of ideas, some elbow grease, and an empty room.

1. Have a gaming night

You don’t have to be nerdy to enjoy a good game with a friend or two. Either break out a chess or checkers board, or turn on the console and slot in your favourite multiplayer games. You can make a competition out of the whole thing, and take a shot every time you suffer a lost piece or death in game! Scary games are their own brand of art and banding together to take on the latest monster is a great bonding exercise. Pac-man score tables are a great ranking to prove who is the best gamer out of your circle. Use this power wisely however!

2. Make a home bar in your living room

This is a pitch perfect way to liven up your evening. Make some cocktails with each other and toast to your great night in! This is a good way to hone some of your martini skills and really branch out with your alcohol tastes. Mix and match those chocolates drops with some tequila and learn what really tingles your tastebuds. Print off some recipes and stick them up on the wall behind you, then move a table into the centre of the room and host a night out at home. You can even plug a karaoke machine in for some drunk crooning if the mood calls for it.

3. Turn off the TV and hold a stand up show

Which one out of you and your friends is the funniest? Are any of you able to flex your improv muscles? Switching off the outside world for a while and having a good belly laugh together with local tales of your weekly antics is a fantastic idea to spend time together, and is one of the most fun options on this list! Create a mini stage out of a few boxes or winding a wire in a circle, and put on some upbeat entry music to announce the arrival of each ‘comedian.’ Have some heckling shouts ready on the side to really motivate or tease whoever’s on the stand.

Friday night is a special time in all our hearts, with work over for the week and the weekend right around the corner. Celebrate your own way in style with some easy and even cheap alternatives to the staple of grinding on the dance floor. Alternatively, use any of these ideas on a free evening midweek, just to split up the rough feel of the daily grind.

What do you do on a Friday night?

Simply Be Beach Wishlist

Hey Cats,

I have hardly looked at clothes lately as I have been in a bit of a funk but I feel like I am getting my love of fashion back and have been keeping a keen eye on whats on sale lately. I am just lusting after a holiday so I thought I would make that want even more by putting together a beach wish list for a must have outfit to hit the sea hopefully somewhere with lots of sun and cocktails. Having always been a fan of Simply Be I just knew I could find the perfect beach outfit there.

So picture this we just got an all inclusive invite to the beach the sun is beating and the waves are crashing what is the first thing we need A BIKINI of course and I just adore this black high waisted number from Fig Leaves. I love the design that gives lots of support but still looks super cute and glamorous. It looks crazy comfortable and I could just see myself splashing around in the sea without fear of a nip slip or worse losing the bottoms when caught in a wave. Trust me these are the kind of thing that would happen to me,

Although we all love sun bathing and getting some of the natural happiness from those sun rays it is also super important to remember the sun cream and grab a parasol if the beach has them because who wants to look like a lobster after a quick dip. Another way to stay cool when  you have had enough of the sun is to make sure you pack a cover up that is nice and light but covers up enough so you don't catch too much sun and the one that caught my eye was also from Fig Leaves.

This super glam maxi still shows a peak at the killer bikini and has a sultry slit up the front if like me your pins always need that extra bit of sun. I love the goth glamour of this cover up and can already see the wistful instagram picture with it blowing in the cool breeze. Can you tell I am already there with my coconut cocktail? This cover up screams Grecian glamour and I adore the rose gold eyelet detailing on the shoulders and waist. Simple but classic! I also noticed that there is a matching bikini if you are all about coordinating.

When you watch the movies all these beach babes have huge heels on but pray do tell me how far do they get on the sand? Yes bare feet is an option but have you ever walked on super hot sand ouchie give your feet a little protection from the heat and keep them cool in a pretty dainty sandal. I love these pearl detailed wide fitting sandals from Sole Diva. Simple flip flops just will not do when we can have a bit of sparkle. You know what is coming next....

If we are already serving gothic glam we may as well bring the coven realness with a huge hat which is also practical because we need to keep our heads protected especially in extreme heats! I am a huge fan of a big floppy hat and you can even use it to fan yourself after if you get way too hot. There was so much to choose from I could have picked lots of cute things for a day at the beach. Don't forget to top off the look with some big sun glasses and you will need a bag to carry all those essential in.

Have you been on your holidays yet? what did you wear?

Adventuring In Style: Ways To See The World That Don’t Require A Backpack

Hey Cats,

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with backpacking. Quite the contrary, in fact, backpacking is a wonderful and exciting way to see this fascinating world we live on. It's just sometimes a girl needs a little luxury, and there is nothing wrong with that. That is why have put together this guide to seeing the world in style. So read on for some super stylish travel suggestions.

Luxury Safari In Africa

One super stylish travel suggestion for seeing the world includes booking a place on a luxury safari. Some great locations for this include Mundulea Reserve, Namibia and the Ruaha National Park, Tanzania.  Visiting Africa in this way, instead of roughing it out in the bush, means you get to stay in exclusive village style accommodation. Accommodation that has private pools, resident chefs, and rooms that are kitted out with everything you desire for your a comfortable stay.

That means you can relax as if you were on a resort style holiday in the evening. Then when it comes to heading out on safari during the day time, you are refreshed and ready to appreciate the actual adventure part itself to its fullest. The adventure that is a once in a lifetime chance to get up close and personal with some of the world's most exotic animals. Such as, depending on the location that you choose, giraffes, lions, and antelope. All in their natural habitats, and if that doesn't qualify as an adventure, I don't know what will!

giraffe-657773_1280.jpg

Hire a Yacht In Greece

Something else to consider if you have that wanderlust but want to sate it in style is hiring a private boat and hopping between the Greek islands.  Depending on how much you are willing to spend you could get one that comes with a bar, a hot tub, sleeping quarters and a full crew! Hiring a yacht also means that you can tour the local area by sea.  Island hopping between Santorini, Mykonos, Ios, and Paros. As well as the other smaller islands in between.

greek-island-2101235_1280.jpg

This usually includes stopping at the larger population centres to moor when you want the buzz of a town or to experience nightlife in shore. While spending the time in between sunbathing on deck and swimming in the bright blue, crystal clear ocean. As well as and trying your hand at water-sports activities direct from the boat. All this while sipping a Martini, or the refreshment of your choice. Now that is luxurious!

Crusin’ Around Asia

cruise-114152_1280.jpg

You can also see the world in style by booking a place on one of the Bolsover Cruise Club packages from Singapore to Southampton. Imagine it, you start your journey in the East visiting Singapore for a few nights in a five-star hotel like the Mandarin Oriental. Then sail the high seas visiting countries including Malaysia, Srilanka, and India. Before stopping off in Dubai and then heading home along a route that takes you via Jorden, Cyprus, Italy, Spain and finally to the back to the UK.

All of this while experiencing the luxury of a cruise liner like the Cunard Queen Mary 2. A ship that on which, you can expect to have access to things such as a pool, hot tubs, a planetarium, and a huge library. The largest, in fact, on any boat! But you also have the convenience of being taken from place to place while being able to relax. Then when you get to the locations on your itinerary like Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Aqaba for Petra, Jordan. The place where the legendary city hewed from the rock is located, you will be rested enough to appreciate all that they have to offer. In fact, despite the whole trip lasting 40 days, it may seem like it all over too fast, because it was such an easy and relaxed experience.

desert-1189955_1280.jpg

Glamping In the Switzerland

Where better to glamp, that is glamorously camp, than in the beautiful clean and pure nature of Switzerland? There you can hire a tent lodge by the night. So you can enjoy the sleeping under canvas experience that is both luxurious and brings you closer to nature.

In camping sites that offer such accommodation you can often expect proper beds, and options for heating in case it gets a little chilly in the night. As well as real bathrooms and running water. No holes dug in the ground for you! Other benefits can even include fresh eggs from resident hens, that you get to collect yourself as part of the adventure. Of course, staying in a venue such as this can make a great one night experience, as part of a wider tour of the area. Or why not use it as a base in which to explore the locality in more depth. Where you will find all sorts of exciting and adventurous activities. Such as visiting the Lang Glacier and ascending to the top of the Jungfrau by train or cable car.

Living the Hotel Life in America

America has some pretty stunning hotels to experience, and none more so than the ones on offer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Of course, there are levels of hotels, and some are definitely better than others. Although as you are in the midst of one of the most bonkers man-made playgrounds every build, why not go the whole hog and treat yourself to somewhere super swish?

hotel-841397_1280.jpg

That means avoiding locals like the Luxor and going for the newer and most up to date hotels like the Encore and the Wynne instead. There you can rent a plush suite with living space in which to relax and get ready for what will, no doubt, be some pretty big nights out on the town. Of course, the uber swish suites, the one with pools are saved as complementary benefits for the casino; high rollers. So if you are feeling a little flush, keep splashing the cash and maybe just maybe you’ll get comped a truly outrageous room to stay in too. Something that will truly mean you will see the world in style, as very few folks ever get to experience the inside of such suites.

What are your luxury travel tips?

Pride In Your Post Code- Manchester #Postcodepride

Hey Cats,

I took the big move recently and went from being a Birmingham grrrl to a country grrrl and wow are things different but now my nearest big city is Manchester and I am falling in love with it. I can literally jump on a bus to Manchester these days and be from the heart of the countryside right into a big bustling city again so I wanted to share the things I have grown to love as I have learnt about Manchester. You can learn more about your post code and others using PCA predict   which can also help you find any of the places I mention.

Like my beloved Brum the city of Manchester if built on Industry. Manchester was once a very small town and through manufacturing during the industrial revolution some of the beautiful grand looking buildings were created and the bustling wealth grew. As the city grew the industry of Manchester grew and evolved and now it is know for mass success in finances, hospitality, media and arts. There is so much to see and do right on your doorstep from museums to a huge shopping centre packed full of your favourite places to covet. I love going shopping in Manc ...I mean come on have you seen the size of the Primark? I could get lost in there alone! I actually go shopping with my Mama a lot in this beautiful city and never come home disappointed...dare I even say it is a much better shopping experience than Birmingham. Shocking I know but there are just so many more shops and things just seem to flow easier making walking around shops, grabbing a bite to eat and finding transport so much easier. There are lots of fab little vintage places to browse for a retro loving grrrl like me that is a dream come true.

Lets talk culture because I love a good night out or a walk around a mind blowing museum. Manchester has a lot to offer from theatres to opera houses. I have always wanted to go to the opera in fact it is on my hit list now I just have to convince the Mr! I love the theatre and there are at least 3 I can think of to choose from so there is always something to go watch. I am keeping my eyes open for Hairspray as I am yet to catch it and as a die hard John Waters fan it has ti be done and any excuse for a night out in the big city. There are lots of museums to go to and some of them are even free so if shopping isn't your thing you can drop your mates off at the shops and soak up a bit of culture for yourself. I am a big believer of not all art being in galleries and often cities become the gallery themselves. I love going street art spotting and Manchester has some amazingly talented artists.

Media is massively on the rise in Manchester with a huge media hub for growing film and TV people. With the BBC having a huge base in Manchester now more opportunity for young people to jump up the ranks is being created. For me as someone who worked in the media field for 10 years this is really exciting and I only wish when I was looking at a media career path such an amazing facility had been available. I am always amazed at the growth of any industry but especially in awe when it is related to media.

We can't talk about Manchester without talking about the music scene. Music is life to me and I have been to soooo many gigs in Manchester over the years and hopefully will go to even more. There are lots of venues big and small to choose from. Personally I prefer the small gigs they just feel so much more personal and I just dig the vibe more. I like checking out small spots and discovering new bands on the up especially when they are local. Get out and support your local musicians because they work so hard and are under appreciated. The music scene in Manchester is electric and can't be missed just add a gig in Manchester to your list of things to do this year and you will not be disappointed,

Have you been to Manchester recently? What is the your #Postcodepride let me know in the comments below or send me a tweet lets celebrate!
