5 Reasons To Visit Thailand

Hey Cats,

If you are like me and have the travel bug you are constantly dreaming about your next trip and where to head off to next! I have so many places I want to go and one of them is definitely Thailand. A beautiful country that welcomes 1000s of visitors every day if you haven't been then you will want to go I will give you 5 reasons why you should pack that bag and book the flight today. Just take me with you please.

The Food

You may be thinking oh now come on I can try Thai food at a restaurant down the road but believe me when I say it is nowhere near the same. A lot of Thai restaurants that open in western countries tame the foods for the western pallet. When eating in Thailand you can experience true Thai food and taste the freshest ingredients grown right there in the beautiful country. There are so many beautiful flavours to try and you can get street food for super cheap and dine in beautiful restaurants by the sea or in the countryside with breathtaking views which can make any dining experience something to remember. From spicy shrimp soup to coconut chicken you can take your taste buds on an adventure make sure you try som tam!

The culture and People

Culture is extremely important in Thailand and there are many beautiful places to go where you can see culture expressed and represented in many ways. You can visit peaceful temples, local markets and visit beautiful sculptures. The best people to learn about the culture and traditions of Thailand are the people themselves. Thailand hosts a nation of welcoming and warm, friendly people who you can talk to. Part of travelling is getting to know people, go and shop locally and talk to people who offer guided tours be friendly, polite and respectful and you will get the same in return. Remember even if some of the traditions and beliefs you do not agree with always to be respectful of others cultures.

Luxury On A Budget

There are lots of stunning spa resorts in Thailand so if you want a break from a stressful life back home then Phuket Holidays can help you find luxury at a low cost. Really relax at a spa hotel where you can get massages, take some time out in the sea view pool or even go scuba diving. If you like your own space you can find some stunning villas to book for as little or as many people as you need to have travel with you with some amazing facilities that you can relax and enjoy after a long busy day. Holidays are about relaxing so take advantage of the rest time and you may be surprised at how cheap it can be to have a luxury break on a budget.

Breathtaking Scenery

The scenery you can see in Thailand is just breath taking before my friend went out to live there I thought Thailand was all beaches but it is also full of beautiful green countryside with stunning flowers and windmills. Just think how stunning your Instagram feed will look when you go on a trek in the country or even more exciting in the jungle.

The Beaches

Lets face it when  you go on holiday you can trek up mountains and eat until you are fit to burst but sometimes the thing you want to do most is sit and contemplate on the beach watching the sea and really taking in the world. Thailand has so many beautiful beaches you can explore and with beautiful blue sea you won't be able to resist going in for a paddle. I love writing on the beach as it really helps me creatively flow and you can always build a sandcastle.

Have you been to Thailand?

Dating events to find love!

Hey Cats,

A great way to start dating is by attending events and there are lots of different things you can jump into. I know the thought of a dating event may sound cringe but if you have a few single friends you can make a real night of it and if you don't meet a perfect match you will at least meet lots of people and then hopefully have the confidence to try another. Plus you can pick up tips and find out about other events from other people plus just the knowledge that everyone in the room is single is a big plus because there is nothing worse with hitting on someones eases partner.

If the words speed dating send a shiver down your spine have a think why? Dating is about meeting people and what better way than to meet lots of people at once especially if you get to sit next to your friend it will all be over in around an hour and you will have a ton of laughs and stories to tell and lets face it if anyone is a nightmare you only have to talk to them for a short time instead of all night which could be a saviour.

I think speed dating is a fantastic way to meet people you may not have chatted to at first but might spark with instantly and it is great practise for dates. There are lots of speed dating events around now as they have grown more popular you can check out some here at speed dating in Lothian, speed dating in Nottinghamshire, speed dating in county down, speed dating in Gwent, or speed dating in Grampian. For events local to you look online and you will find lots or even set up one yourself and then you get first pick.

If clubbing is your scene then there are lots of singles only club nights these vary from rock nights to dance clubs. The only difference to a normal night out clubbing is that everyone in the room is single which puts you off to a better start and avoids any awkward misunderstandings. You get to dance the night away with fellow singles and if you're a music nut like me find people into the same music as you plus you know more what they are like before you go on your first date and more importantly if they can dance. So grab your friends and dance the night away if nothing else it is a fun night of dancing.

If you are more adventurous and maybe the only single one of your friends then singles holidays could be the best for you! Adventure awaits as singles holidays range from relaxing sunny beaches, luxury cruises or adventure holidays. A group from small to larger gets together and goes exploring/ Even if you don't feel this will find you a date it can be a good way to venture out on holiday without having to travel alone and means you have a group to discover new things with. Walking holidays and sports holidays are particularly popular for singles to band together on and then instead of getting lost in the wilderness you can get lost in someone else! How romantic to meet on holiday and a fine excuse to holiday for all those future anniversaries.

What kind of events do you go to find that perfect date?

The Ultimate Self Care Pamper Evening

Hey Cats,

We are all so guilty of getting lost in either looking after others or working hard and forgetting to show ourselves some love, that is where we need to stop and take a breather. What better way to do that than have a self indulgent, relaxing pamper evening! Simply Be kindly sent me a package full of goodies to kick back and beautify. I want to share that me time with you in the hopes it will inspire you to take some time out for yourself to.

When it comes to a pamper session I love to start with a bath where you can just soak all those worries away. Bomb cosmetics make amazing bath bombs, fizzers, melts and bubble baths for all your bathing needs. Simply Be has lots of different sets from bomb cosmetics I chose the ice cream themed one because what is a self love night without ice cream of some sort. Relaxing is made so easy with bath bombs the essential oils nourish your skin making it baby soft after the harsh drying weather. The ice cream bath blaster not only looks beautiful but is packed with  sandalwood and bergamot essential oils.

I love bath bombs but for me a bath isn’t anything without lots of bubbles so this gift set is perfect as you get a vanilla sky bubble bath so combining the two and using the extra sweet castaway soap will leave you smelling and feeling delicious.

I love a good mask so went a bit crazy for a deep conditioning hair mask and a foot peeler from ok. Lovely Korean beauty inspired products to get you looking glam in no time. Hair masks always make me feel like my hair is getting a new feel, I try and do them monthly or even every two weeks hair masks aren’t just great for your hair but also for your scalp too. If I haven’t been wearing a hat in this blistering cold my sensitive scalp gets really dry and using a deep conditioner can be really soothing. I also try and use scalp masks or massage a good oil into my scalp and then wash out later. Coconut oil is perfect for this kind of thing but I found that the hair mask was easier to use and left my hair silky soft.

Peeling foot masks aren’t as instantly gratifying as they are a longer term thing after giving your feet a real treat and moisturise within a few days your feet will peel and hard skin will disappear. I will keep you posted!

Everyone knows the most comfortable of clothes id pyjamas and although we all look in horror when we see someone out and about in them I think secretly we wish we could all live in them. So comfy home clothes were super important because beauty sessions don't always have to be uncomfortable. Simply be lounge wear has so many cute pjs to choose from but I just had to have unicorns! A pair of night clothes that combines unicorns and rainbows is any grrrls best friend. I got these in a 20-22 but they go from 12/14 up to a 32/34 and for only£10 are a complete steal.

I picked up some L'Oreal dual cream which I put on straight from the bath to sooth my dry skin even though I have another treat in store for it. I have used this before and loved how great and awake it made my skin look which sounds crazy but the older I get the more concealer i find myself going through!

I also picked up an Sleep Mask from ohk! I had always been curious about sleep masks and what better time to try one out than in the winter when we get ill and the cold really gives our face a run for it's money. I get really red blotches from dry patches so have to crank up the moisturiser so this sounded perfect put on and night and let it do it's thing. I will let you know how soft my skin is after.

Lately finding time to do my nails is a real luxury and so I need to use quality products with a longer lasting polish. Rose gold is my favourite right now and Ciate has some beautiful products which you can grab from simply be. Even though this one was advertised as a beach look I think it is perfect for the upcoming party season with beautiful rose gold nails and a flash of glitter I just couldn't resist having a practice ready for the upcoming Christmas party. I love that this set has a coconut top coat to help protect our nails and keep them looking amazing for longer. I feel massively spoilt and relaxed thanks to Simply be and was really impressed with the range of items they had in their beauty section as I must admit I never seemed to check it out before but I will now.  Even better there is a black Friday special sale coming up so who needs more of an excuse to spoil themselves?

What would you have for your pamper night? Have you tried simply be's beauty section yet?

5 Tips for getting on the dating scene over 40

Hey Cats,

Dating is a scary scene for some but people make the mistake of thinking that the older you get the harder dating gets and personally I think that is not true, in fact I think it becomes easier. When you're really young and dating it is hard to know what you really want as most people at that age have no idea who they are yet or what life holds for them. As you get older you know more and more what you enjoy and you have your own stability in yourself and life in general. Maybe you have got out of a long relationship and are jumping on the dating scene for the first time in forever and things seem daunting or maybe you have been focused on your career life and now are ready and open to love. Whatever the reason dating can be a lot of fun if you let it.

1-Don't just settle!

Too many people get insecure meet a person that is free, single, has a job and think great they will do! Always play the field a bit first go on a few dates with different people until you get that spark. Sure you may get lucky and find someone straight away who makes you feel like a giddy teenager and then of course jump on that or them even. Just make sure you are aware of your own wroth and how deserving and special you are and you deserve to find someone who will love you and everything that comes with you!

2- Be Open and Honest

If you are a long time reader of my dating posts you know I harp on about being open and honest but it really is the key to any dating. As life moves on and we get to our 40s chances are you life comes with more than just do. Don't be misled into believing that your past relationships, children or family are 'baggage' of any form. Anyone who may think that about something so precious in your life is not worth knowing and equally be accepting that your future love may come with children and maybe even complications of their own. Combining adult lives at any age becomes complex but is always so worth it. Be proud to say yes you're a parent or no you have never been in a serious relationship because to the right person it won't matter it will be part of you.

3-Don't let the past control the future

The past is just that and nobody is telling you to completely forget your life before meeting new people because it isn't always that easy. Maybe your marriage just fell apart naturally or you could have lost some suddenly and unexpected in which case you should always remember them but let yourself move on. Equally if you have had a string of bad relationships don't bring those insecurities into your next relationships take the time to heal first and know that just because in the past your relationships haven't been successful doesn't mean this next one won't be your forever love but you have to give them that chance to be there.

4-Try Online Dating

Over 40 our lives our super busy there are friends to see, work to go to, kids to attend to and so much more life can be pretty hectic. How on earth can you get the time to meet someone if you have all this on your plate. Dating on the go is the future you can jump on dating sites on your phone or computer and get to know people at your fingertips and there are even specialised dating sites now that help you narrow down your potential dates. You may think dating sites are not for your age group but there are plenty of local and over 40s sites that you can visit some great sites include senior dating, Hampshire dating, Glasgow dating, Yorkshire dating agency, and Jersey dating agency. There are now so many places to choose from to find love!

5-Take your time

Most of all take your time! Don't feel like you have to rush things which is one of the great things about online dating you can really take the time to get to know someone before you have even gone on a date. Go on as many dates as you can before you commit make sure they well and truly woo and appreciate you for the awesome person you are.

A- Z of inspirational women R is for...

Hey Cats,

It's that time again to loom at inspirational women of the past and present and all the amazing things they do to inspire every day. It feels like only yesterday we started this series but if you're new be sure to go check out all the others so far and let us know who you would have put forward.

Lets start with a woman who represents the many who so many have depicted again and again and look to as a symbol of strength. Rosie the Riveter has become a bit of an icon adorning posters and t-shirts and still recognised to this day. The poster of Rosie the Riveter was used during World War II as a representation of all the women that had to step out of the feminine shackles and into a new world of working and being recognised as an equal. Women were the backbone of the UK during the war farming the lands, working the factories and keeping the country running. So Rosie is in fact not one person but represents any woman who needs the strength to carry on!

Rebel Wilson is out in the media loud, fat and proud she may be playing the fat friend in a lot of her roles but she does it with serious sass and style so much so you just want to be the one hanging out with her laughing your heads off and dancing the night away. She may have faced some very recent controversy from the plus size world in that she has been seen to be 'trimming down' but what is wrong with a woman being healthy and still very plus size health at every size is important.  I just hope that is Rebels motivation and not that the Hollywood world has finally got to her. With an arsenal of films and a clothing line under her belt this savvy business woman is a force to look up to.

Rachel Wiley is a strong, beautiful and talented woman. I have always been moved by poetry but hers just brings me to tears she can take you to places you didn't think anyone else understood. She is outspoken on issues of race, fat positivity, love and politics. A gift with moving words and a legend on the spoken word scene. If you have time to check out some of Wiley's work I urge you to just spend half an hour listening to some of her powerful worlds and try and tell me that you're not inspired because you will come away feeling rushed with inspiration.

Who did I miss that is inspiring to you?

Tips for taking care of your designer jeans!

Hey Cats,

Did you know that on average, a woman owns seven pairs of denim jeans! When asked for reasons why they the love for these trousers, 56% said it was for their durability and 71% said it was for their flattering look. If we are going to keep spending money on jeans we may as well buy quality and find out how to make them last and keep their colour for longer. Trilogy Stores, stockists of designer skinny jeans, have provided us with some handy tips.

Better wearing and storing

Denim jeans are a go-to option for completing any outfit at any time of the year! We definitely get our wear out of them and want them to last as long as possible. There are some things that you can do to help maintain their flattering shape and fit.
The first step is to really wear them as much a possible before that first wash. Jeans are designed to mould to your body and the reason that old pair of jeans is so comfy is because it has had lots of time to really adjust to your shape. Washing too frequently has been known to fade the colour and damage the denim material. Instead, spot clean with a damp sponge or soft toothbrush to remove smaller stains. Or, if you feel as though your jeans need a freshen up, hang them outside to air or spray them with a fabric refresher.
When you are putting your jeans away resist the urge to use a clippy hanger as the clips can damage the waistband of the jeans and they have a habit of not hanging properly. The best thing to do is either to fold them and put them in a draw or just fold them over a hanger and let them hang that way.

Correct ways to wash

The way you wash your jeans is very important, over washing can lead to fading and wear which can shorten their wardrobe life. The best way to wash is to turn your jeans completely inside out, this will stop them fading and any buttons from snagging. If washing for the first time best to wash separately or you may end up with the dye running into other clothes. Also resist from putting more than a few pairs in the machine together because when denim is wet it just gets heavier and that could then also do damage to your machine which is more expensive to replace than a pair of jeans....well some!

A cool wash of 30 degrees is ideal even better if you have the time and patience for hand washing. The heat can destroy the elastane and ruin the fitting shape of your jeans. You can buy a denim wash that has been designed to care for the colour and fibres in denim, it is non-biological and suitable for washing your favourite pair of jeans. Keep to the rule of separate colours to make sure those lighter jeans don’t suddenly end up black. When it comes to coated denim, these jeans should avoid the washing machine completely try dry clean instead.

If you’re up for trying so,etching a little different then some suggest putting your jeans in the freezer! It can apparently keep yoUr jeans fresh but I wouldn’t suggest trying this in the winter. Another recommendation is adding salt and vinegar to a hand wash. This is meant to prevent colour bleeding and keep the fabric colour set for longer.
Dry it right!

So you have followed all the other tips and want to dry your designer jeans the right way without distorting them out of shape or losing that colour.

A big no to wringing them dry, this can cause the shape of the jeans to change and cause wrinkles and creases which can then become tricky to get out. Instead, roll up the jean and press firmly to release and excess water. You could hang the jeans up outside and allow to air dry, some people are against this as the sunlight can cause fading. Alternatively, you could dry on a flat surface indoors or use a clothes rack.
Avoid drying on a radiator or in a tumble dryer — the heat from these can do damage to the denim. For the same reason, avoid ironing your jeans — simply put them on and the creases will fall out on their own.
A final tip if in doubt read the manufacturer recommendations on the tag. The manufacturer knows the material the best and how to care for it without causing damage. Follow this advice for long-lasting jeans that will continue to flatter you.

Lets Go To Prom

Hey Cats,

A little fact about me you may not know is that I went to an all girls grammar school. Now it wasn't a boarding school and as a whole it was a pretty awesome experience in fact it is probably one of the reasons I find it so easy to get on with women and celebrate and encourage their successes but it did mean that we missed out on some things! We didn't have exciting end if year parties I think we had a disco once which was rad but not the same as having the amazing excuse to go all out for something special like prom! I have always loved the idea of going to a prom and love that it is now becoming more popular in the U.K. Any excuse to get dressed up and have a good time with your friends while celebrating finishing something as huge as school is totally needed and important.

What is the best thing about prom? All the amazing dresses and hairstyles of course so what better way than to pretend I'm getting to go to prom than choosing the perfect outfit and hairstyle for the day. The only other day most of us get to do this is on our big wedding day so come on the journey with me.

The Outfit

Formals are all about breaking out the big guns and going full on glamour. I know some ladies may strive to be a bit different and don an amazing stylish tux themselves but I am all about the dresses. I think I have a dress addiction and I love big full dresses with lots of detail and intricate quality work. There is something for every budget out there as high street retailers have really upped their game and are now catering for all shapes and sizes of glamorous goddesses in the making. For most people glamour is all about the maxi length a long flowing gown in a luxurious material but I just never feel right in a full length dress. I even have just the perfect dress for prom with a touch of Gothic glamour I would reach for my Chi Chi London Lottie dress. Chi chi has so many stunning dresses and really are worth the money.

The hair

I always wish I had a way with hair the truth is I just don't have the patience but there are so many beautiful prom hair styles. I would take this chance and get my bum into a salon I just love vintage salons and styles and just imagine all the beautiful curls. As I have fine hair back combing is my best friend and without the help of extensions I will never be rocking a voluminous Kardasian look. The 90s lover in me wants any excuse to rock a sparkly tiara or at least a beautiful headband. I would love lots of big curls or a cute beehive. Here are some of my favourites ..

The Make up

If you are already spoiling yourself with a trip to the salon may as well really get pampered and have our make up done for us too. Even make up counters have upped their game but Mac go all out and provide beautiful looks. Booking a make up artist to do a group is also a great idea. You can't go wrong with killer lashes, a flick of eyeliner and red bold lips but I also love something more dramatic too! Here are some of my favourite alternative vintage inspired looks.

Of course the look would need the perfect shoes and accessories but you can totally see I love Gothic glamour. What would you wear to prom?

LGBT Friendly Dates In The U.K.

Hey Cats,

Dating can get very hard when the specifics and dynamics of love change. The wide world of dating is usually aimed at 'straight' dating favouring that of men and women and meaning that there are a large number of dating sites for men and women and LGBT dating gets put into the background. Being bisexual I hated having my sexuality on dating sites as men seemed to take it as an open invitation to be like"woah man you like women too let's hook up with a girl together" and at the end of the day sexuality and preference in monogamy/polygamy do not go hand in hand. When I write about dating despite the fact I have chose to spend my life with a man I try to be inclusive as possible all dates I suggest are friendly for all.

In the LGBT scene the most important thing is a community, although the world is slowly becoming more accepting coming out almost daily is a difficult situation for many so having LGBT friendly places to go is vital! Which is why this post isn't just about dating but also finding places to build that community.  Lesbian dating in maidenstone is a great place to meet potential dates but where can you both meet fello like minded people. The Queen Arm's is a laid back pub who have karaoke nights and other fabulous events as well as serving food if you would prefer a quiet date.

Lesbian dating in Dyfed could take you on a different adventure as it may not be the first place that comes to mind but that is why it is so important to explore new places. This Welsh county is very picturesque so if you and your date are looking to make friends be in a friendly relax environment and get active then you can join the gay outdoors club , the  West Wales walking group band together to go on beautiful walks you can help your date discover the beauty of wales and you! West Wales meet once a month and walk on a Sunday and also have regular meetings and lunches. If you don't want to go alone you could look up lesbian dating in Clwyd  and find a potential match there.

If drinking and dancing is more your scene then gay dating in Ipswich could be for you and they have a great bar called Colors who have lots of LGBT run events and nights out. Whisk your date onto the dance floor and spoil them with cocktails and you may discover their hidden karaoke skills before the night is out. Gay dating in Central is a great place to find a huge hub of places and events to go to as well as all the best places you may find a date.

Where are you favourite LGBT friendly places to visit?

5 Classic Spooky Films You Should Watch This Halloween

Hey Cats,

It is the best time of year when everyone is getting spooky and down to watch those scarier films that I love oh so much. So you are partied out from a weekend of early Halloween fun but the big night is still upon us and you may want a more chilled affair so grab those comfy clothes (all black please) get some spooky snacks together and snuggle down with your best ghoul for a night of Halloween film fests.

Hocus Pocus

Lets start with something light and you can't go wrong with a bit of Disney and an all time classic starting the lady herself Bette Midler. I just never get bored of this film and it always brings a gentle spook to the night without bringing too much of a fright. Suitable for the whole family and it is crazy to think that this cult film wasn't a big hit in the movie theatres. We have all been longing for a sequel and now it seems we may just be getting out wish with Hocus Pocus 2 the original screen writer Mick Garris has heavily implied that a follow up is brewing and when asked if the original cast would be returning he said “I think they are, yeah, I think they are. If they don’t do that I think it would be a big mistake because all three of them are still so incredibly potent and powerful and great performers and who else can recreate those characters?”  Fingers crossed they get to work soon but until then the original is a definite for Halloween night.

If you have somehow missed the classic gem that is Beetlejuice then get on it now you will be laughing until your belly busts and envying Lydia's gothic glamour. Family friendly for those older monsters that don't spook too easily. If you love Tim Burton you could even follow this with 'A nightmare before Christmas' or 'Coraline'. Another classic that is said to be bubbling a sequel with the original cast said to be up for it. I always get so nervous when films I love get ready to come back but I am excited to see what they bring next. Watch out for those sandworms they will eat you alive and you will find yourself screaming Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

Moving away from family friendly if you don't have great attention span or want to pack the most in for your horror then you can't go wrong with an anthology. Bodybags is fulled with tongue in cheek humour and tales of karma. Made by and staring the legend that is John Carpenter I raved about this film a while back in #Fridayfright where you can find out about some more must see anthologies. You get short snappy horror and the old skool style of being talked through the tale by a gruesome host. Other amazing hoists to check out are the crypt keeper and the ever stunning Elvira.

A double whammy of awesome wrote by Stephen King and directed by Kimberley Pierce it is so important that we celebrate women in horror and this is a true classic. A sad tale of a lonely bullied girl entering womanhood if you have seen the original but not the new Rage version then check it out and vice versa as they are both pretty killer in their own ways! Also Both directed by very talented women. I think this one holds a special place in my heart I went to an all girls school and the ridicule girls especially can throw at each other when they should be supporting each other is crazy so keep an open mind and always be nice or you may just end up messing with the wrong person.

Citizen Toxie

If you're not easily offended and love your horror independent, campy and slapstick then you have to get on the Troma train. My Favourite Toxic avenger film has to be 'Citiozen Toxie' when an evil Toxie swaps place with our loveable anti hero. I most definitely love the monster and the heart that goes into Troma films. If you're cool and a true 90s kid you may just remember the Toxic avenger cartoons which can be a family friendly alternative for those little spooky fans.m

What are your classic Halloween watches?

Bringing Back The Spark When The Honeymoon period ends!

Hey Cats,

So I have been teamed with the awesome Welovedates to talk about getting that spark back when the honeymoon period ends! In the films they make out love is constant dates all the time and being whirlwind in love but eventually its about watching films in your pants and other such comfortable glam things. The beauty is you should totally enjoy those moments but you need to make sure you still keep the relationship exciting too!

I met my boo on one of the best dating sites and you can find your love in some great places I am always talking about local dating sites so for my friends across the pond you can find love in awesome places like Sydney dating , Melbourne dating, Brisbane dating and Perth dating.

Date Night

Date night is important in a relationship because you need to spend that time together to build fresh exciting memories. Date nights don't always have to be going out somewhere exciting but you should try and not always stay in. Even if you do opt to stay in I try and make sure I still dress up nice and really make an effort. We love to plan meals for each other and have cheese and wine evenings in front of the fire.A date night can be something as simple as taking a walk in the countryside together or even seeing that crazy film that is out at the cinema at the moment. Equally you can go really extravagant and surprise your partner to a trip away for the weekend or that expensive restaurant you always looked at. You will find yourself feeling like when you first met and who needs an excuse to buy that new dress or pair of shoes?

Doing your own thing away from each other is equally important as spending time together. That may sound like a huge contradiction but if you do everything together then it will soon get boring fast. It is important to have your own hobbies and do things that interest you and then you get to tell each other all about it later so double the fun. Go out and see your friends fairly often we used to go out the same evening with our mates and then all meet up at the end in the same club. This works great because you have had the best of both worlds and save money on a taxi home by sharing. If you don't have any hobbies then get out and have little treat days for yourself, take yourself for a coffee and cake or go shopping but try and do some solo activities to stay in touch with yourself and who you are as a person. I love going somewhere beautiful having a  walk and then sitting down to read for a bit.

Try New Things

As well as trying new things in life there is one area that always needs to be exciting and that is in the bedroom. Sex is not the be all and end all of a relationship  but it is also an important part! I am not saying you need to start swinging and wearing rubber (unless that is what you're into - no judgement here) but trying new underwear, role play, massages and dirty talk can go a long way. Go to a burlesque class and you boys too it isn't just down to your partner. Learn new ways to turn your partner on and you will be surprised how quick that honeymoon period comes flying back.

What do you do to keep the relationship interesting?

Reading The Signs Online That They Like You!

Hey Cats,

So you have been cruising the best dating sites and now you want to know does this person dig you. I am talking more specifically online. Lets be real there are several types of online dater and you want to make sure you are matched up with someone who truly likes you and don't waste your time on a catfish.

The thing is when talking to people online you have no idea how many other people they are talking to because that is why the dating world has gone a bit lazy lately everyone has unlimited options at their fingers. That is why I think it is important to use trusted dating sites where people who are looking for love and not a fling are more likely to go even better if you try ones local to your area there are dating sites for all over such as Berkshire dating site, Bristol dating site, Devon dating site and Gloucester dating site. Using sites like tinder is asking for trouble as it is dramatically based on looks nobody should be flicking passed a photo before even getting to know you. I like sites with a bit more substance in them when someone has took the time to fill out a profile they are bound to be a bit more serious.

So you have jumped onto the best type of dating site and you have started talking to that dreamboat but how do you tell if they like you? Many people make the mistake of thinking if they don't reply instantly then they aren't interested. Just remember that life is happening and you have no idea what that person can be doing and sometimes it is worth the wait to look forward to a well thought out reply rather than quick short bursts of conversation. That special person will make the time for you and will reply to your questions. However if they vanish for days at a time have but you can see they have been online then maybe take the time to explore your options. If the messages feel like really hard work and they never ask questions back then they really are just not that into you, so use that time to talk to someone who is! Equally they will want to progress the conversation elsewhere such as taking to Facebook or even swapping numbers. I find Facebook the best option and the safest if they are a bit cagey about adding you on Facebook maybe they are hiding something.

The compliments you get can also show a lot about how much they like you. If they are always about your photos or body then stay away but if you get genuine responses like "I really like talking to you" and "You really make me laugh" then there is a better chance that they are into you! Respect should always be a priority I mean sure everyone fancies people and can get carried away but if he is suddenly looking to flash you dick pics and begging you for nudes then slow your roll. Your potential love interest should respect you and be able to be patient about getting to know every bit of you.

Communication is a key factor in getting to know someone online and making sure you do set that date to meet up. I personally think this is super important to do a few weeks to a month in as you never really know what that spark is going to be like when you meet them. When you do meet them the signs if they like you should be loud and clear. If they want to hold your hands and make you laugh even buy you a drink and take you somewhere nice then they could be a keeper. Stay clear of offers to Netflix and chill you are worth more than that!

How did you know they liked you?

Travel Tips For The Luxury Lover!

Hey Cats,

As you may know I have a huge passion for travel and am always looking forward to the next trip I can manage to squeeze in. Sometimes travelling can be tents and backpacking but there are times when a holiday needs to be relaxing and you need to have more luxury retreats that can be vacation homes in Barbados or a high class hotel. Lets talk about ways you can travel with style and really get the most out of that trip.

One of the things I love doing when I am not already travelling is finding out about new places and all the best things to do as I like to cram as much as I can into my travels. When I go somewhere it is like a learning experience I want to see and do everything so I always do my research by checking out places like wiki, and even Buzzfeed have some great top lists of where your next adventure can take you. By putting in that research you can find out about local events. When I went to Cappadocia in Turkey we found out you could go on a hot air balloon across the beautiful canyons. It was worth getting up early just to see a beautiful sunrise as the balloons filled the sky. Experiences like this are the ones that take your breath away and leave you wistfully thinking how worth it was getting on that plane.

I get a buzz when I do a bit of the tourist site seeing too going to historic buildings and places always fills me with awe and you can do this in real style by making sure you know who the best tour people are and booking ahead as you can see reviews and pictures from other people, where as when you book on the spot while you are away you take a gamble and trust me I have some tour disaster stories from doing just that.

Another great way to find out what to see is to talk to as many people as possible. Don't be shy even if there is a language barrier take the time to try and get to know people. Local people will know all the best places that even the travel experts have missed. You can find out more about the culture and traditions of the country. I love finding out about local history and trade, where to shop and what the average person does in their time off. I have found out about some of the best spas and even got great deals just by taking the time to chat to someone. It isn't just the locals who hold the knowledge talk to your fellow travel enthusiasts as they may have found a hidden gem or something that suits your style. When I went to Berlin I was all about art and seeing the beautiful street art.

Shopping around for the right place is also important. You need to know what you want if you want luxury then a 3* hotel just isn't going to cut it! Especially when travelling remember the rating is dramatically different to a hotel of the same calibre here in the UK. Having a sound base for your travels where you feel comfortable and stress free is half the battle. Sure you can save a lot of money by booking things separately and  searching the net for deals but you can still bag a deal to somewhere with those added comforts. Luxury retreats is a great place to start as they put in all the work for you and you Can just book a villa and away you go. There are some stunning sea view properties or if you're a keen cyclist you can stay by a stunning lake. Plus having your own space by booking a villa you can have so much fun just in the villa itself. If I want comfort I prefer this method of booking as you also have someone to go to if the place isn't what it seemed when you book blindly you take that gamble alone.

Immerse yourself in the culture you will be surprised what luxuries that will bring. So many other countries realise the importance of taking care of yourself and really looking after those you love.  Especially in hot countries the importance of a pamper session after being in the hot sun is vital. Getting a body scrub can really help your tired skin and a massage will help you unwind after exploring and shopping, two of my favourite things! Some of the best messages I have got have been when I have been on holiday. If a massage isn't your thing get a facial and kick back at the beach but remember to cover up and be safe.

Treat yourself to delicious food because that can be a whole new adventure on it's own. I had never tasted Sri Lankan food before and I was blown away by all the beautiful flavours when I visited and whenever I am by the sea I have to have some fresh sea food. So many people warn you not to have sea food when on holiday but if you dine in the right restaurants you will have no problem. We stopped at a beautiful sea view restaurant which was candle lit with beautiful music and the sound of the waves crashing and it is a memory that will stay with me. The best thing is you can take a walk on the beach as the sun sets and really take in the world.

What are your luxury travel tips?  share them in the comments I love reading all about your adventures too!

What colour shirts do women prefer?

Hey Cats,
Have you ever wondered what goes through a guys mind when picking the perfect shirt? Well I am going to explore the science with you today.
When choosing a shirt to impress, a few questions might cross a man’s mind: does it match with the trousers? Is the material of a good quality? Is it suitable for the dress code? Something that men should also be asking is – what does this colour say about me?
Research has shown that the colour of a man’s shirt can perceive them in a certain way, if you’re looking to come across as powerful; choose red. If you want to show confidence, always opt for black. We have teamed up with Charles Tyrwhitt, experts in gentlemen’s fashion and retailers of men’s formal shirts, to investigate further and find out which colours women prefer on men.

Choosing the right colour

When it comes to deciding which coloured shirt to buy, there are some that are perceived more positively by the opposite sex. Consider purchasing one of the following coloured shirts on your next shopping trip if you’re looking to dress to impress…

Associated with Valentine’s Day and all things romantic, red signifies love and passion. It is thought that the attraction to red comes from our biological roots – many animals such as baboons are attracted to the opposite sex if they display bright colours. To wear this on a first date might be slightly overpowering, however it does give off some vibes that your date might be interested in.
If you’re looking to demonstrate power and a strong social status, red is a good colour to go for. Research found that wearing red can actually boost the wearers own confidence, which will be a good thing during a first date for women who are looking for a man with some self. A red shirt can indicate that you have good health and are financially stable, two more things a woman may have on their checklist when looking for a new partner.
In a survey which explored the attractiveness of men in different coloured shirts, red was found to be more attractive than blue or green. This perception was a global consensus - so wherever in the world you go wearing a red shirt, expect to get a similar reception.
However, although the colour was linked to romance it was not associated with the wearer being kind or sociable – perhaps you’ll have to demonstrate these traits through the power of conversation instead.

Although originally kept in the wardrobe for mourning, black is now worn for various occasions by many fashion followers. Similar to red, black can be perceived as the colour of self-assurance – 56% of women said that it inspired confidence. Other comments included that the colour black made the wearer appear more intelligent and sexy – perfect for a first date!
Black is renowned for being worn at classy events. Too much black can be overpowering, so if you opt for a black shirt you should avoid pairing it with a black jacket, pants and shoes too. It is a versatile colour and don’t be afraid to mix and match, for example denim jeans and a black shirt is a good casual outfit for many events.

White was another colour that rated high in terms of clothing. It was perceived to be the least arrogant colour and instead gave off the impression that the wearer was full of optimism!
A white shirt is a nice and classic look for when you are trying to impress at a formal event. However, during research, it was the definitive white t-shirt and jeans combo that caught women’s eyes and was perceived to be the more attractive look for a man.  You can't beat a classic white crisp shirt which makes accessories pop. Team with cufflinks or a slick tie for extra points.

Ones to avoid

There are also some colours to avoid when it comes to choosing a shirt. In many surveys revolving around the attractiveness of colour, orange and brown consistently performed poorly. They often are perceived as quite boring, drab colours although a bright orange shirt could brighten up an outfit nicely on a summer’s day.
Pink didn’t go down very well either.Only 5% of people thought that intelligent people would wear this colour!

Other tips

When choosing a coloured shirt consider the following tips too:
  • Many men look great in a colour that matches their eyes, if you have green eyes perhaps opt for a moss green shirt- a popular colour this season
  • Avoid wearing dark colours if you have a light complexion, this can really draw your skin tone out and make you appear paler
  • If you have dark hair, opt for bright colours as these are likely to complement you more
