Calling All Happy Film Makers #filmedwithhappiness

As a film maker I am always looking for new exciting challenges to be a part of to push me into trying different filming styles. I am also a big believer in getting more people involved with making films. So many people always say to me that they would love to make something at least once. My answer to this is JUST HAVE A GO. Now is your chance.

Sofa.com are running a great competition to help independent film makers. Yeah you read that right a sofa company. They really believe in supporting creatives as much as possible and have put this competition together to show their support. You have a chance to win £3000 and the runners up will get £1000 but most of all the most priceless of all your work will be seen by the legend himself Peter Jackson who will be on the judging panel. Other judges will be Merlin Crossingham (Wallace and Gromit), and other top media professionals.

I have followed Peter Jackson's amazing work and he has worked hard to get where he is today but he hasn't always worked on huge budgets some of you may remember Brain Dead which was a low budget zombie flick. Everyone has to start somewhere.

So now I have you hooked, I am guessing you want to know what you have to do, right?

Simple...you just have to make a film or animation that is 15 to 30 seconds long. No more than 30 seconds though we are not making Lord Of The Rings here. There is a small catch. It has to be suitable for children. Now don't go running away my horror loving crew think of this of exploring a new area. The piece has to represent happiness. You don't have to feature sofas at all there is no limit to what you can do in your 30 seconds so long as it is suitable for kids, is fun, happy and any audio is normalised.

When you are done just upload the film/animation onto the website at http://www.sofa.com/filmed-with-happiness-entry with a brief explanation. Deadline is 31st March so jump to it! Don't forget to let me know if you enter or even if you aren't tell me what makes you happy!
